About me

Technology Expert | Problem Solver | Creator | Explorer | Strategist

I grew up in a Maryland community surrounded by an eclectic blend of families—farmers, professional athletes, and congresspeople. At 17 years old, I committed to attending the United States Air Force Academy without knowing what I was signing up for. At that time, I never imagined that I would be jumping solo out of airplanes, traveling to Division I lacrosse games in the cargo net seats of C-17 aircraft, or enjoying coding. But calculated spontaneity has fueled a wonderful career thus far, using data and analytics to address some of our nation's hardest technical, political, and socioeconomic problems. I am grateful for this.

Coding is one of the most creative acts not typically associated with the arts. There are seemingly infinite ways to achieve a similar outcome through code, and this freedom excites me. Similar to how an artist fills a canvas, it is up to the developer to bring both technical and non-technical perspectives that alter the final software experience. I began my career as a data scientist, focused on building predictive models and uncovering insights from data. However, I quickly realized that developing models alone wasn't enough to deliver real value to help people. Driven by a desire to create impactful solutions, I taught myself the software engineering skills needed to build and deploy usable, scalable applications. Moving beyond standalone notebooks, I transformed one-off models into robust AI products. Through this portfolio and my resume, I showcase various experiences that highlight the maturity of my ability to bridge the gap between data science and software engineering, turning innovative concepts into functional, real-world solutions.

I thrive in dynamic environments, navigating through chaos and complexity to find clarity and direction. My core strengths stem from my attention to detail, resourcefulness, and my ability to listen and embrace diverse perspectives. These intangibles, along with my passion for efficiency, propel my ability to identify root challenges and develop effective solutions. I've worked solo and I've led cross-functional teams at scale, and I'd choose teamwork every time. Sometimes we just need to work smarter, not harder.

Outside of work, I am a sportsman, a foodie, and an avid traveler. I enjoy a good challenge as well as a journey without a destination. Feel free to reach out—whether it's to chat about tech, swap travel stories, or debate the merits of pineapple on pizza. I'm always up for an ice-cold drink and some chatter!
